Solaris

Break the Windows and breathe free. — Adrian Hoe, 1998.

Welcome to my Sparc/Solaris site! This Solaris Gnome 2 desktop screenshot was taken while waiting to finish building some software packages. I’m running Solaris 9 on Sun Blade 150.

You can find some pre-built packages for Sparc/Solaris 9:

GKrellM

GKrellM

GKrellM is a single process stack of system monitors which supports applying themes to match its appearance to your window manager, Gtk, or any other theme. For more information, visit GKrellM official website.

[Download GKrellM 2.1.21] This package is compiled on Sun Blade 150 running Solaris 9.

Installation instruction:

  1. You must login as root.
  2. Unzip the package in /var/spool/pkg.
  3. # pkgadd -d SFWgkrellm2
  4. Set path to /opt/sfw/gkrellm-2.1.21/bin
  5. % gkrellm
  6. Refer to GKrellM website for configuration instruction.

Visit GKrellM@muhri.net for more skins. My favorite theme like the one on the right is CoplandOS theme. Download the skin package and untar in ~/.gkrellm2/themes then select the theme in GKrellM’s configuration menu.
