Kung Fu Panda

Just finished watching Kung Fu Panda with LA and kids. It is a really nice comedy with good meaning. My boys like to watch animation and Dmitry has been asking me many times, “Daddy, when can we watch Kung Fu Panda?” Finally, there it is.
The CG animation has brilliant colors and Chinese culture cleverly blended into it. I think it is the best CG animation ever that involves many great complexity. I am not going to talk or comment about this movie because it has been released in cinema sometimes ago. It is pointless for me to review it now. But one thing which has caught my attention is near the end of the movie. Po’s goose father Mr. Ping, tells him about the secret of the secret recipes of the noodle soup. Ping says, “The secret of the secret recipe of the noodle soup is nothing at all. There is no secret recipe.” (I hope I get the line correct, I am lazy to play the video again). Then Po realizes why the dragon scroll is blank. He then defeats his enemy, the much feared Tai Lung, with his determination and courage together with a little enlightenment.
The moral of the story, there is no secret recipe to become success. Courage, determination, faith, hardworking, persistence, strive and a little enlightenment are the secret ingredients of success.
Oh yeah, I forgot, a dream and a miracle are also secret ingredients in the secret recipe. So, dare to dream for a miracle and realize it.
For those who have not watched the movie, I strongly recommend to have a watch. You will certainly have a good laugh.
A great Sunday morning
Yesterday, we took two bicycles to the town for repair. I hadn’t been using the bicycle carrier since 2006. In the evening, we took the bicycles to the park. After dinner, we went home and the weather seemed like to rain. Actually, I thought of taking the kids and the bikes to the park again the next morning. But it started to rain before midnight. We changed the plan, no bike but jogging at the park.
This morning, the weather was so cool because after the rain and was perfect to go fill up the gas tank. So, we all woke up early and went to the petrol station to fill up the tank. After that we went to the park followed by breakfast.
We went to the old part of Melaka China town near by the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple for dim sum. This restaurant is Melaka most famous and oldest dim sum restaurant and one of the very few pioneer. My dad used to bought us buns and glutinous rice in lotus leaf. They were delicious 30 years ago as I could remember. That was one of the bad dim sum we ever had. Actually, the taste not too bad at all but certainly was not a good one. The service was very bad and not really kids- or baby- friendly. We quickly had some and left. When checking the bill, it was quite expensive. I will definitely not recommend that dim sum restaurant.
Forget about the bad experience at breakfast. Anyway, we all enjoyed very much today. At night we watched movies at home.
Open Season
I actually planned a surprise for D today. The original plan was to take D out for lunch and the movie, Open Season. Everyone was not in a good mood so LA and I had a little argument this morning. Later in the afternoon, when D woke up from his nap, I asked him if he wanted to go for a movie. He anwsered “yes” initially. I did not know why he changed his mind later.
After I started my car, D was standing at the doorstep. I asked him if he wanted to go but he ignored me. I asked several times and he still ignored and finally he ran away into our bedroom. I was upset and I decided to carry on with my plan in solo.
At the cinema, I was not sure if I should watch. At last, I decided to treat myself a good laugh.

Yes, the movie was funny. It was about an adopted bear returning to the nature. Boog is fat and acustomed to human world. He was returned to the forest and he found he was lost in the forest. The story had got many characters which described exactly every human behaviors. The bottom line is, all the different animals, unite together and stand against the hunters and give them a good smack. These animals are afraid of hunters with riffles. But when they are united, they become brave and strong.
Personally, I think this is a very patriotic movie. It is entertaining and touching. I had a really good laugh. Laughing is the best medicine. It can lighten up your mood and increase endorphin and is very good for the recovery of my eye. Well, I had a good dose of laughter and endorphin. You missed the show, D!
Dmitry was disappointed
Dmitry and I had a date for a movie, Open Season. You know, it’s dad-and-son kind of thing.
We were very excited from home and Dmitry behaved very well in the car. We left our home at 16:30. We were to catch the 17:40 show. When we arrived at the ticket counter at 17:05, there was only one ticket left. Third row from the screen. I hate to sit so close to the screen. There was no choice left and I decided not to go for it. Dmitry was quite disappointed as I could see it through his eyes.
However, we decided to go to our usual hang out place (Coffee Bean) to get a drink. I ordered a Taro Ice Blended. Not bad the taste. After the drink, we went hope.
Monster House
Today Dmitry and I went to Kuala Lumpur again. This was the second time he followed me. My primary intention was to send my iBook for inspection.
We went for a movie, Monster House, at GSC in 1 Utama shopping complex. He watched the movie until the end. Monster House was a nice scary cartoon for a kid. Dmitry was enjoying the movie in my hug eating pop-corns away.

CPU of tomorrow
I read about the new CPU or microprocessor used inside Sony’s new Playstation 3 (PS3). PS3 is scheduled to be released in Japan and America on November 11 and 17, respectively, this year.
The new PS3 uses a new Cell processor jointly developed by IBM, Sony and Toshiba. The Cell processor consists of a general-purpose POWERPC processor core connected to eight special-purpose DSP cores. These DSP cores, which IBM calls “synergistic processing elements” (SPE), are really the heart of the entire Cell concept.

I am not talking about how this new technology works here. I am not surprised how fast new technology emerges. But I am a little concerned how new technology will influence or rather have evil impact to human world.
Remember the movie, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, 1991? The scientist from a company called Cyberdyne was trying to engineer a new CPU based on the halved CPU left over by the Terminator (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger from part 1).
Will CPU become so powerful one day that it can take on the world like in the movies?
I watched a movie while I was young. I could not recall its title but I could still remember the bio chip or neural chip in the movie which were made of silicon and life brain cells.
Could the science fiction in movies become a reality one day? I think it is becoming obvious.
Can new technology become a threat to the human one day? I am afraid to see this happens.
