Dear Hoe Sensei

Thank you for writing down all your experience and your research results. I represent a small group of karateka in Switzerland. We had to experience similar stories with senior instructors of Chin Mok Sung Sensei (he is no relative of mine). We've decided to go our own way of karate a few years ago and never had any regrets since then.

Wish you all the best - Ossu!

With respect, Leo Chin

Hi, I am an old boy of SDHS (STSD) (1980-1981). Did my Form 4 & 5 there. I also stidied and trained the said art of self defence with the same Senseis ie Rashid, Syed, Mok Sung, Lau and Jeyaraman along with my brother, Sanjay.

We also handled a dojo at PJ for Sensei Lau, this was long time back. Now, we are a wee bit creaky all over.

Our warmest regards to all u guys.

Mok Sensei,

That's great and belated happy anniversary.

I am going to Okinawa July/August 2008 (during summer). This is the time when my teacher will be able to teach twice a day. He holds annual summer training for all his international students. November will have a nice and cooling weather to visit.

Best wishes.

Hoe sensei,

It is important to respect and maintain our ties to our roots. We sent teams to Japan HQ for training and tournament almost every year since the early 70s. Our HK shibu was celebrating our 40th anniversary three months ago.

Please visit us next time you pass through HK. I will be going to Okinawa Nov 2008 after WKF Championship in Tokyo.

Regards,
BM

Mok Sensei,

Thank you for visiting my blog and I am glad that you enjoy reading here.

Yes, I agree. Those people who mastermind politics in karate are fanatic of power and control as well as personal benefits. This is due to no close relationship with their honbu and among their fellows practitioners. This is only a tip of an iceberg.

I am glad that I am out of such dirty places. I am now able to concentrate in my training and teaching. I have a very strong tie with my teacher and dojo in Nagahama, Okinawa. You can visit my teacher's website if you want http://uechi-ryu.ws

Perhaps we can meet up the next time I go Okinawa. Hong Kong is one of my favorite stop.

Best wishes and Happy New Year.

Hoe sensei,

Greetings from Hong Kong Seigokan. A very readable and enjoyable article. Politics is always dirty.

Karate is a constantly changing and evolving art, the best thing is to recognise its changes and not to hide it. Katas are done differently within the same style, even the same kan. That's why JKF has been trying to standardise into shitei kata.

Best regards and Happy New Year,
Bill Mok
