My car need a major repair

I sent my car to Honda authorized workshop this morning. I had a technician to go test driving with me so that I could convince him my problem. The knocking sound reduced tremendously after I sent in my car for valve gap adjustment last Monday. But the problem is still there when the vehicle velocity and road condition is right. Read my other posts regarding this problem here, here, here and here.

After some checking, they finally gave up. The service manager told me that they had to dismantle the engine compartment and he called Honda to have them bear the cost since I had good service records with them.

Actually, I was all ready to fire and to bang them because I had spent over RM1,000 and the problem was not remedied at all. Since the service manager guaranteed that they would call Honda to have them to bear the cost, I decided to hold my fire. He promised to call me today or latest by Monday. My car will be in for a few days and they will arrange a courtesy car for me to use. Let see how things go.

    Be sure you have everything in writing regarding any damages in the course of dismantling, costs etc.

    My 2-week old Civic is giving some noise when shifting from low gears to higher. I am taking it in for a warranty claim. WTF!

    Honda pushes production ahead but they have compromised their quality.

    Wow! Civic? Two-week old? That’s my dream car!

    Take it in and bang the table. How can that happen to a brand new car? If possible, press for a new engine replacement.

    I was at the Honda 4S center this morning. They told me they would claim warranty from Honda after the technician inspected my car. Seemed like quite a big problem which the service technician could not handle.

    I will get a confirmation answer from Honda within this week.

    The 3S center called me yesterday morning. The service manager told me the Honda “engineer” would come to Melaka to take a look at my car next week.

    They will call again. So, wish me luck and good luck to you. Do press for a new replacement as your car is very new.

    Yeah, I like Civic, especially a black Honda Civic!

    But don’t get the older model. It is AWFUL! The latest model has digital dashboard.
