Laser Treatment

I went for my scheduled eye examination at my doctor’s clinic in KL yesterday. Everything is fine except the transparent cells covering/holding my artificial lens have begun growing and blurring my vision. I need a laser treatment after 3 months. The treatment is a 5-minute outpatient procedure which uses laser to polish the lens.

Is the growth normal for people who have cataract removed? Can anyone provide some information and experience please?

Yes, apparently, some cells gets dislodged during the catarct removal and these cells start to grow behind the lens , thus clouding the lens. I have the same problem this year and had the same laser treatment done. The procedure is call YAG posterior capsulotomy. Here is a link to my doctor’s website. Unfortunately, he does not have the information on YAG PC posted and I do not have a scanner. But you should be able to look it up – posterior capsulotomy and the proceudre uses a YAG laser technology.

    Good luck.
