Culture Shock

When I was at the Dewan Bukit Beruang for the afternoon class today, I immediately noticed a culture shock when I told the highest ranking student to start with Sanchin in solo. “Onegaishimasu.”, I told the student to say it when bowing.

When it was time for a boy to perform Sanchin, I told him to remove his gi top and the undershirt he was wearing. He was a bit reluctant and embarrassed. I explained to him very briefly why so. I thought he accepted that but still feel embarrassing inside him.

It is a culture shock for the first time today. I expect more tomorrow at Jasin dojo.
