Betrayal

I come to know that my so-called karate comrades have betrayed me.

They once spoke how highly about karate-do, their idealogue and passion. They once spoke and stood side-by-side with me for the betterment of karate-do. They once consented and fought hand-in-hand with me. One of them has many times been a guest in my home. When he switched back to Shotokan, he asked if we were still friends. Still friends we are, I said. But he switched back and join the other side.

Now, they turned their backs to me and betrayed me. Their betrayal makes me suddenly feel so lost and that I can trust no one in this world.

From this moment on, I draw my line.

I am reading Max Ehrmann’s Desiderata to calm myself.

    I am sorry that I have not been in touch with you for so long. I was back to Beijing on the 3rd day of CNY to finish off my dissertation. I am finalizing my thesis and am working on two papers. My preparation to defend my thesis is going on well. First defense will be in May. So wish me luck.

    Their betrayal has proved that your capability surpass far beyond these inferior people. One thing for sure, you are far capable than them. I have read the website that you send me and I can tell he is a very frequent minded person and does not have high ethics as you. He has more brawls than brain.

    Do not mind how they treat you. Move on with your life. Let the dark side consumes them. I have confidence in your strong beliefs. You have all my support.
