OMG! Sanchin monsters!

Oh My God! I could not believe this if I did not see this video with my own eye! Jay forwarded the link to me and when I watched the video, it really gave me the shock of my life. They sounded like monsters from some horror sci-fi movies.

I think the guy with the “boom” hair is the instructor. I wonder how can these people be fooled by his so called karate Sanchin. Instead of blocks and punches, you can see lots of strange moves, and especially, pay attention to their fingers and the way the making the grasp. And the entire Sanchin kata is wrong!

These guys are really fanatic and Jay said they could die when they are 50. But I think they might die before 50 if they continue doing this!

LOL! I nearly die laughing! They are breathing through chest and they call it Breathing Kata Sanchin?? And with their horrible sound I think it’s enough to daunt the opponent, haha… Look at their face, as if they are suffering from the kata! I really sympathize with the students for having such a lousy instructor but obviously these people learn karate blindly without using brain. Nothing but a shame they have made themselves.

    Hi,

That looks and sounds scary. It is really fun to watch this hilarious clip.

I am researching about Sanchin and various karate system. I am interested to take up karate. I have training in Tae Kwon Do and recently Brazilian Jujitsu.

What is the difference between Uechi ryu and other karate? And how different is Uechi ryu Sanchin and other Sanchin?

Where can I find Uechi ryu training in Kuala Lumpur?

    Thanks.

    Henry

    Henry-san,

Kuala Lumpur… Sorry but I know of no instructors there. If you have the chance, try to visit Adrian in Malacca when you can, and at least get a taste of UechiRyu there.

If you have a chance to do as he did, you may arrange to visit the Nagahama Dojo (he stayed with me and my family for a full month). If you can travel, and can plan regular visits (yearly basis) to Okinawa, you can take what you learned and teach it to a small select group in your area (if you qualify here on Okinawa to do so). A UechiRyu club will satisfy your need to practice and to keep your skills sharp by sharing (one becomes acutely conscious of making errors when teaching, so fewer errors).

If you go into some other system that has a Sanchin Kata, be careful to observe carefully whether it is a healthy practice without injury. In my teachings, Sanchin is health-oriented and has a very different purpose than simple pounding, or to see how tough a practioner is. The breathing pattern is much more subtle and energizing. Emphasis is on pliability of the joints and muscles.

Adrian can give you guidance if you have any questions or wish to arrange a training visit to Malacca. If you wish to make a training visit to Okinawa, please contact me to begin an exchange.

I hope to hear from you sometime.

    Regards,

    Seizan

    Hi Henry,

Thanks for dropping in my website and your interest in uechi-ryu Zankai karate-do.

Uechi-ryu Zankai is an old-style Okinawan Karate-do which still preserving the old techniques from China before WW2. It is not a sport karate and hence no jiyu kumite (free sparring) involves. For more information, please visit http://www.uechiryu.org.my often for up-to-date information. You will find more new information there as we update from time to time.

We don’t have any training or dojo in Kuala Lumpur at this moment but it is a plan to do so in December or this coming January after Malacca dojo. You can come visit us and get some introductory training to feel the taste of Uechi-ryu Zankai.

If you can provide me your contact (cell phone number, email or etc.) via my contact page here, I can contact you in person about more details. There is some information we do not wish to publish. Simply because the others may find it too difficult to believe and then make a lot of turmoil about our training.

    Hi Sensei,

Thank you for your response. FYI, I have plans to setup training in Kuala Lumpur after the opening of Malacca dojo. Will keep you updated on this matter. Right now, I wished I have cloned myself 10 or more copies. A lot of works are piling up like KL twin tower!
